Program Description
Applied learning is the heartbeat of Nottingham Trent University's teaching. As well as live projects and placements. Biomedical engineering is a very diverse field which is also developing rapidly. To help students to become a bioengineer of the future, Nottingham Trent University works closely with industry to ensure students are as well-prepared as possible for a career in this exciting and rewarding industry.
By thinking and learning wider than just the subject area, Nottingham Trent University will support students to find solutions to health issues and be the best of the best in their career. Able to follow different career paths, such as those focusing on biomechanical, bio-electronical or human performance, students will get input from the experts in mechanical and electronic engineering, as well as human performance and biomedicine. Areas of bioengineering covered on this course are biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and cellular, tissue, and genetic engineering.
By taking part in industry-led projects, students will learn by problem solving and developing practical engineering skills – giving them experience of what it’s like to work as a professional engineer. The Biomedical Engineering courses are highly practical and use real examples and projects from industry and medicine. On this course, students will look at current health issues and develop materials, processes and devices that help prevent or treat disease or rehabilitate patients.
