First Year Pathway in Humanities and Education - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - History

Anglia Ruskin University College - Cambridge

What you will study

Program Description The education courses take a progressive approach and will teach students transferable skills, relevant across early years, primary teaching and beyond. Education goes beyond the classroom, and students will discover the social issues that impact on children’s and young people’s learning. Choose a humanities course to learn more about how history has shaped modern times; explore politics, social issues and public services; or tackle the philosophical questions that have captivated humanity for millenia. Focusing a range of periods and themes including British and global histories, race and politics, gender, sexuality and the body, and also how history is recreated, students will take part in hands-on historical research to make sense of how past events have shaped the world today. Cambridge is the perfect place to study history. Thanks to close links with local organisations, students will find themselves handling historical objects, leafing through archival material, and working with museum professionals, as well as engaging with digital sources and archives. There’s also the chance to study abroad for a semester, take part in European field trips, and go on work placements as students prepare for a career in many different fields including business, management, local government, heritage, museums and more.
