What you will study

The joint honors program offers students the opportunity to study two European languages in their respective cultural contexts. This program allows students to delve into the diverse cultural backgrounds of these languages.

German, being the native language of over one third of Europeans, and French, extending beyond Europe to various parts of Africa and the Americas, provide a rich linguistic and cultural experience.

By participating in intensive language courses, including a year abroad, students will be able to develop advanced spoken and written skills in both French and German.

Furthermore, alongside language classes, students will explore various aspects of French, Francophone, and German-language culture spanning from the Middle Ages to the present day. These courses encompass literature, art, cinema, political history, social movements, and philosophical ideas.

Overall, this program offers a comprehensive and professional approach to the study of European languages and cultures.
