What you will study

The BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering (Extended) degree starts with a foundation year to prepare students for degree-level study. This course covers growth areas in the discipline, including engineering science, particle technology, pharmaceutical development and bioengineering. This undergraduate course has been designed in consultation with the IChemE and leading companies. The University of Greenwich's hands-on teaching approach is central to the educational experience at the Faculty of Engineering and Science. Students go to a range of companies and organizations of varying sizes for their placements, including large multi-national firms, government agencies, the NHS and small to medium sized companies engaged in research, analytical services and manufacturing. Previous students have worked in Eon, Dyson, ADEY, PS Analytical and E-liquids, GSK, NHS hospitals. Career options include roles in chemical and process engineering, pharmaceutical industries and food and beverage (one of the largest employment sectors in the UK). Graduates could also pursue postgraduate study.
