Bachelor of Arts - Media Studies & Psychology (Honours) (RFK)

Program Description Students will gain the diversity of knowledge today's employers are looking for by studying and specializing in not one, but two academic disciplines.

Media Studies Media dominate the world and shape perceptions of reality. In this popular program, students navigate and engage with the theory, principles and practice that shape ever-changing media landscape. In Media Studies, students will examine the influence of advertising and ideology, the political economy of media corporations, the foundations of media arts, and the ecological impact of media technologies. They will also benefit from interdisciplinary curriculum, learning across subjects from the arts and sciences, and across environments from the classroom to the community to prospective career paths through the co-op stream. Through the Media Studies Co-op degree, they will get the full picture of media, from influence on ideology to individual imaginations.

Psychology Psychology is the study of human behaviour, the brain, and the mind. More than that, it is an examination of how and why people act, think, and feel the way they do. At Trent University, Psychology students dive into diverse topics, from personality and child development, to abnormal psychology and neuroscience, and beyond. No matter the area of interest, they will work closely with faculty who are devoted to teaching and research, and create opportunities for interactive, experiential learning for students to strengthen their knowledge and professional skills related to understanding themselves.
