In the first year of this program, students will develop a strong foundation in basic science and engineering principles. They will study a range of engineering areas, letting students decide which area interests them the most. Griffith University is a strong believers in `learning by doing', so this degree has a strong practical focus. Students will learn from teachers who are passionate about engineering and the difference it makes in the world. In second year, students will choose their preferred major so they can focus on the area they feel passionate about. Learning from industry kicks into another gear, and students will participate in genuine engineering projects. They will also hear from the very best, with guest lecturers explaining their vision and the results of significant projects. Students will have direct access to them for questions and advice as part of Griffith's smaller, more personalised experience. Entering their final year, students will take their skills and work with one of Griffith University's industry partners locally or overseas, undertaking a trimester-long project through our capstone Industry Affiliates Program. Graduates will have the hands-on skills that employers want from graduates. Plus, because this is an accredited degree, students will have met Engineers Australia stage one competencies. This degree is also internationally recognised, which means students can put their skills into practice right around the world.
