Overview
The Department of Classics and Ancient History offers the opportunity to carry out postgraduate research in a distinctively wide range of areas, from all the major civilisations of the ancient Mediterranean, to all periods of classical antiquity.
As a postgraduate researcher in the Department, students will join an internationally acclaimed research community.
Relevant taught modules may be attended by arrangement to develop appropriate research skills; this includes the study of ancient languages. Subject to programme requirements and the approval of their supervisor, students can access training in: • Greek • Latin • Ancient Egyptian
