Overview

The programme aims to develop future leaders who will play a key role in an AI-empowered business environment. By the end of the programme, graduates will be able to effectively align business strategy with AI strategy through an understanding of both business and technology.

The principal aim of the MSc Applied AI for Business is to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and skills in AI, necessary for a career in the ever-evolving digitised management sector, enabling them to make a positive impact on the world. The programme combines academic rigor—teaching underpinned by research from faculty at Henley Business School and the Department of Computer Science—with practical application and insight from the real world. It includes a comprehensive careers development programme, delivered by Henley Careers and Professional Development, which provides personalised mentoring support to help graduates achieve their goals. The University of Reading is strategically located in the Thames Valley, a major UK tech hub, which is home to over 150 companies and start-ups working in the AI sector. In 2023, Reading was ranked second in Data City’s list of “AI hotspots” in the UK.
