Program Description Foundation Studies Program (Fast Track) - Law (X0G:3) (0100809):

The Foundation Studies program is a direct academic pathway to first-year undergraduate degree study, or an equivalent. The program acts as a bridging course for international students who wish to study a university undergraduate degree course but who don’t yet meet academic requirements and/or have the English language skills for tertiary study.

To successfully complete the program, students must achieve a 50% pass in all units, including English.

Upon successful completion of the course, graduates can enter one of the University of Tasmania’s undergraduate degree courses.

Bachelor of Justice Studies (13Q):

Tasmania has a long history of fighting for those who need a voice. The Bachelor of Justice studies is built on the issues facing social and environmental justice in University of Tasmania’s home state. Students can explore topical and relevant examples, such as Tasmania leading the charge in gender reform, or issues related to housing, employment and asylum seekers.

A student’s studies will explore a range of justice settings including environmental, human rights, criminal, indigenous justice, and applied justice analytics through Forensic Studies and Emergency Management. Students will graduate ready to make a positive impact on their community. • Specialise in Social Justice and Human Rights which reflect social change and demand for job ready graduates who seek to apply their learnings to real world problems. • Students can give themselves every chance to deepen their understanding, gain experience and network through work-integrated learning opportunities, internships and exchange programs in across more than sixty countries. • Engage and learn from the world's leading experts in Criminology, Policing and Emergency Management, Sociology and Politics and International Relations, through a unique course which brings together criminal and social justice.

This course is developed within an applied framework that develops their real world problem solving capabilities which can be applied in local, national, and global employment opportunities. Students can prepare themselves for criminal and social justice workplaces by learning independently and collaboratively about the theoretical, ethical, and practical issues related to crime and justice. Imagine working for an international organisation like the United Nations, Amnesty International, Australian Human Rights Commission, and Australian Red Cross, within the Police, Department of Justice or Correctional Services.

The flexible structure of this degree allows students to tailor course content to suit their own interests. Dive deeper to develop their Justice Studies specialisation, or broaden their learning across other areas of interest with a major (eight units), minor (four units) or individual elective units from across the University of Tasmania.
