Overview
Social Science fields are many and varied, and include such areas as Cultural Anthropology, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Geography, History, International Relations, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. An Associate of Arts degree prepares students for transfer to a baccalaureate institution for further study in Social Science or one of its encompassed fields.
Upon successful completion of this degree, students will be able to: • Analyze relevant contemporary social issues using concepts and evidence from the social sciences. • Evaluate social/behavioral research with regard to research methods, evidence and scientific reasoning. • Describe how the social context can affect individual behavior and perspectives.
