TAFE NSW's Certificate IV in Community Services empowers students to build a rewarding career while making a difference in their community as a case or community services worker.
Students will learn skills that can be applied across different areas of community services, including alcohol and drugs, child protection, juvenile justice, mental health and more. The topics are broad so students gain experience working with a range of clients - from young people to seniors - to help them achieve their goals.
At TAFE NSW, students will study with teachers who are leaders in their field and have current industry expertise. Students can also take advantage of TAFE NSW's extensive partnerships, connecting them with positive workplace learning experiences.
TAFE NSW's Diploma of Community Services builds on students' core competency, develops their specialised skills and equips them for a rewarding career in the community services sector.
Learn to develop and implement service programs and trauma-informed care, analyse the impact of sociological factors on clients, and facilitate workplace debriefing and support processes. Depending on the elective subjects students choose, they may also learn to coordinate complex case requirements, assess co-existing needs, and identify and respond to children and young people at risk.
This course provides students with job-ready skills and advanced knowledge to work effectively as a caseworker or manager, welfare worker, team leader or domestic violence officer in the community.
