Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Mathematics

BSc Mathematics of the University of Chester is a successful course with a very good reputation in the mathematics community of UK and has been run for more than 30 years. This course is mainly focused on Applied and Computational mathematics and is carefully designed to maximise students’ enjoyment of their mathematical studies. Many real-life applications from biology, physics, and finance, as for example the evolution of tumour growth, the wave transmission through optical fibers, the prediction of stock prices, or even big data problems, involve mathematical models. We teach the analytical and numerical methods of mathematical modelling. The syllabus also contains various topics from logic, number theory, graphs and networks that are useful in cybersecurity, cryptography and supply chain logistics. In addition, we teach some popular modules like data analysis, machine learning and statistics, that provide expertise for jobs in data analysis companies, the NHS, banks, etc.
