Overview

If a student has finished high school but does not meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate can help them to gain entry to an undergraduate degree. Admission to the University of Nottingham can be gained through a pathway course at the University of Nottingham International College. Students will be part of a large international student population at the University of Nottingham. It is a member of the elite Russell Group, and is consistently ranked among the world’s best schools. The course is run jointly with the School of Economics. In the first year, by studying core mathematics modules, students will develop their skills in problem solving, high-level numeracy and analytical thinking. Economics is introduced on both micro and macro scales. Students can then specialise through optional modules in both subjects in the second and third years. This flexibility allows students to focus more on microeconomics, macroeconomics or econometrics after the first year, depending on preferences.

Students will be supported with the step up to university maths through peer mentoring programme and be surrounded by like-minded students who are passionate about maths and the role it plays in today's economies.
