Associate of Arts - Kinesiology (Optional transfer)

Kinesiology prepares students for careers in fitness and health related fields. Course topics include basic human anatomy and physiology; the field of kinesiology and its sub-disciplines; socio-cultural and historical influences; athletic injury care; and nutrition. Courses offered are transferable as lower division coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

Upon completion of the associate degree, graduates gain an understanding of human movement as well as a solid foundation to build their selected sub-discipline in Kinesiology at a four-year university.

Optional Transfer

San Mateo - Cañada College is partnered with various universities and colleges to give interested applicants the opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university after completing their associates degree or to transfer during their associates degree. Interested applicants should indicate their interest on the application form along with their intended partner university. San Mateo will provide students with the transfer requirements needed to guarantee a transfer. They still need to apply to the university during the regular period, which is usually one year in advance of the start date.
