Selkirk College - Castlegar
The College Certificate in Engineering Transfer at Selkirk College is designed for students interested in the field of engineering — a discipline that combines science and mathematics to design and develop the products and processes essential to modern life. Engineers are thinkers and builders who use creativity and technical expertise to solve problems and improve the world around them. A career in engineering offers both high earning potential and deeply satisfying work.
In the first-year Engineering Transfer (Applied Science) program, students gain a strong background in mathematics and physics, building a solid foundation for the remaining three years of an engineering degree. This program equips students with the knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in a range of engineering disciplines.
Successful completion of the certificate program enables students to transfer credits toward an engineering degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC), UBC Okanagan, Simon Fraser University (SFU), the University of Victoria (UVic), or the University of Alberta. Students who achieve a minimum GPA of 2.7 and complete the program within two semesters may qualify for guaranteed entry into the UBC Okanagan Engineering degree program. These students are also considered for admission to UBC Vancouver on the same basis as UBC Vancouver students.
