Lakeland College - Vermilion
Dig into both the science and business of the crop sector with the crop technology program.
Student's learn agronomy, precision farming, sustainability and financial management. Student's are not confined to classrooms and will get their hands dirty on the Student-Managed Farm – powered by New Holland.
Use and calibrate the newest agricultural technology and software. Student's may even get a chance to try the latest New Holland combine.
Teamwork and collaboration are a big part of the Student Managed Farm experience. As part of the crop unit student's make real world decisions about: • what to grow on the college farm • managing production through to harvest • how to market and when to sell corps
On the business side, gain understanding about working with accountants, banks and business partners.
Along the way student's develop leadership and job skills. As a crop technology graduate, they are prepared to run their own farm or work in the retail agriculture sector.
