St. Clair College - Chatham Campus
The Protection, Security and Investigation – Fast Track (K813) program at St. Clair College is an accelerated Ontario College Diploma designed for students who already hold a postsecondary credential and wish to pursue a career in the security and investigative services sector. The program delivers comprehensive training in a condensed format, allowing students to complete the diploma in a shorter timeframe.
Students gain knowledge and practical skills in areas such as security operations, criminal law, investigative techniques, surveillance, risk assessment, emergency management, and loss prevention. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical understanding and hands‑on application, preparing students to respond effectively to security challenges in various environments.
Through scenario‑based learning and practical exercises, students develop critical thinking, communication, and decision‑making skills essential for roles in public and private security sectors. The program also introduces legal and ethical considerations relevant to policing and investigative work.
Graduates are prepared for careers as security officers, loss prevention specialists, private investigators, corporate security personnel, and enforcement officers, or may pursue further studies or training in policing or law enforcement.
