Master of Research - Psychology

The MRes Psychology at the University of West London enables students to develop advanced research skills through specialist teaching, learning and independent research under the supervision of a research-active academic.

Students will study a range of contemporary methodologies, including open science and replication, big data and meta-science, and participatory methods.

They will also develop skills in open-source coding, responsible and critical use of artificial intelligence, autoethnography and narrative analysis, as well as research funding and dissemination.

The course provides first-hand experience of conducting original, rigorous and impactful research with real-world relevance.

As a Master of Research degree, the programme places a strong emphasis on an independent research project, supported by taught modules such as Methods and Measurement in the Social Sciences and Data Analysis, Replication and Dissemination. Students will complete structured assessments across these modules while undertaking a substantial independent research project.
