Overview
The MSc Crime and Justice in Practice offers students the opportunity to explore the real-world workings of criminal, restorative, and community justice systems. The programme provides an in-depth understanding of how justice processes operate both nationally and internationally, while encouraging critical analysis of the impact of justice policies and research. It uncovers the complexities that shape modern justice systems and equips students with the tools to navigate them effectively.
Students will develop advanced research skills in both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a strong emphasis on ethics and research design. These skills are applied through the development and completion of an original research project relevant to justice practice.
The programme fosters critical awareness of the broader economic, socio-cultural, and political contexts that influence the practice of social research across various sectors, including academia, government, policy, non-governmental organisations, the third sector, and business.
