Overview
If students have finished high school but don’t meet the entry requirements for university, a Foundation Certificate can help them gain entry to an undergraduate degree. Chemists have been instrumental in ridding the world of killer diseases and developing drugs that improve the lives and outcomes for millions of people worldwide. Pharmaceutical chemists are interested in how chemicals and drugs work in a biological environment, so if students are passionate about both chemistry and biology, then this is a great course for them. Students will regularly be working in a professional laboratory, using the most advanced techniques, so that when they graduate they will already have many of the skills employers are looking for. The course gives students real flexibility too. Students can opt to spend one year working in industry, getting valuable work experience that can help them get a job when they graduate. Students can also choose specialist modules, depending on their own personal passions.
