What you will study
The Honours Bachelor of Management – Sustainability is a four-year applied degree program that integrates business leadership with sustainability-focused practices and work-integrated experiences, preparing graduates to lead change across diverse sectors.
Program Highlights
The program addresses a unique and growing industry demand by preparing sustainability professionals with expertise spanning technology, environmental management, economics, and social impact. It combines management knowledge in sustainability accounting, carbon management, and sustainability business case development with project management, environmental policy, regulatory frameworks, and research skills.
As an applied degree, the program emphasizes experiential learning through case-study analysis, real-world application of concepts, an industry-based capstone project, a work-integrated learning term, and a culminating applied research project. Instruction is delivered in a hybrid format, with approximately one-third of instructional hours offered online (either synchronously or asynchronously).
The program is also committed to embedding Indigenous content and knowledge throughout its curriculum. Graduates are prepared to assume leadership roles in sustainability and possess the ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams to drive change within a wide range of organizational and community contexts.
Learning Outcomes
Students develop practical skills in environmental science, sustainability technologies, business strategy, management, leadership, research, governance and policy, data analytics, and reporting. The program fosters expertise in change leadership, project management, sustainable accounting, and the development of sustainability-focused business cases.
Throughout the program, students engage with Indigenous knowledge and perspectives, as well as the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. They cultivate the analytical and leadership skills necessary to address sustainability challenges using inclusive and intersectional approaches that reflect diverse experiences and impacts.
In the final year, students deepen their learning by addressing advanced sustainability challenges and integrating knowledge in applied and meaningful ways. Through an applied research project, they have the opportunity to engage in thesis-level work on real-world issues, applying and demonstrating their skills in a practical and impactful manner.
