Overview

The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.

The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.

Law This course allows students to build their own personalized LLM by choosing from a wide range of specialist modules, enabling them to study areas that interest them.

The program offers a diverse variety of law modules in different specialist areas, including corporate law, competition law, banking law, trade law, investment law, intellectual property, e-commerce, environmental law, climate change, water law, international law, human rights law, international criminal justice, international security, and transnational crime. In addition to specialisms delivered by faculty, there are options in oil and gas or energy law provided by the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy. Students can also choose modules related to business, politics, and international relations.

Students often combine topics from different areas; for example, they might want to integrate an understanding of corporate and commercial law with environmental law, or combine insights into security with international criminal justice.

This wide selection allows students to develop existing areas of specialization or to expand their knowledge into new areas of law that they have not previously studied or practiced.
