Overview
Social work is a practice-based profession that uses human rights and social justice principles to empower those disadvantaged by class, race, gender, age, and ability. Laurier's Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) offers a holistic, interdisciplinary academic experience that shapes your identity as a social worker. This direct-entry program allows you to study social work from the first year. In senior years, you'll gain supervised pre-professional experience through two field placements in social and community agencies. Graduating will equip you with effective communication and ethical practice skills.
