Centennial College - Progress
The Computer Systems Technician – Networking (Fast-Track) program is an accelerated diploma designed for individuals with prior postsecondary education or relevant experience who want to quickly enter the information technology field. This intensive program provides the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to install, configure, and maintain computer systems and network infrastructures.
Students learn about networking concepts, server administration, operating systems (such as Windows and Linux), cybersecurity fundamentals, and cloud-based technologies. The program emphasizes practical training through labs and real-world scenarios, enabling students to build, manage, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs).
In addition to technical skills, students develop problem-solving abilities and user support techniques required in modern IT environments. The curriculum may also help prepare students for industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Cisco’s CCNA.
Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles such as network technician, IT support specialist, help desk analyst, and systems support technician across a variety of sectors, including business, government, and non-profit organizations.
