What you will study

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Engineering and Physical Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

As a civil engineer the students will become a part of a dynamic, fast-growing industry with the potential to develop your career across the globe.

This course teaches them the principles and concepts of civil engineering, supported by a solid understanding of scientific concepts. the students will have access to the latest high-quality equipment and facilities.

The students will gain hands-on access to our materials laboratory to test the properties of materials used in civil engineering. The students will also have access to our fluid and thermodynamics laboratory, soils laboratory and computer-aided design (CAD) suites featuring the latest 3D design software.
