2-Semester Pathway - Foundation Pathway in Law and Policing - Continue to Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - Law

Anglia Ruskin University College - Chelmsford

What you will study

The University Foundation Pathway is Stage 1 of the undergraduate pathway. The transition from high school to university is a big step, perhaps the most important. Staff at ARU College understand this, and will provide students with ongoing guidance, support, and the knowledge and skills they need. It is this partnership between the students and the staff that will make this transition a smooth one.

This is a 2 trimester course. which means that an undergraduate degree will take 4 years to complete. During Stage 1 students will complete a range of modules relevant to their chosen degree, as well as modules concentrating on the skills that are vital for University level education such as Critical Thinking. Stage 1 will be the first stage in the 4 stage process. Meaning that on successful completion of stage 1 students will seamlessly progress to stage 2, which is the first year of a bachelor’s degree.

On the Foundation Pathway in Law and Policing, students will be introduced to specific concepts related to the LLB (Hons) – Law degree programme including an introduction to the English legal system, business law, criminal law and the criminal justice system and ethics. Real-world examples of the law in action will be highlighted, and students will practice applying the law to case studies.

The LLB (Hons) – Law will train learners to become a solicitor or barrister with the help of hands-on experience in ARU's law clinics and professional mentoring, besides mooting, online discussions, group work and presentations.
