Associate of Applied Science - Agricultural Power Machinery

Program Highlights • SUNY Cobleskill is home to one of 15 John Deere sponsored programs in the United States. Students in the program are sponsored by a John Deere dealership and are guaranteed employment upon graduation. • An integrated mix of classroom instruction and hands-on learning in laboratory sessions provides students with the knowledge necessary for successful careers. • All Agricultural Power Machinery students gain real-world industry work experience. Students in the John Deere track complete a 500-hour work experience at their sponsoring dealership. • The program’s track record of supplying equipment dealerships and farms with well-educated, highly skilled employees attracts students from across the northeast. • Agricultural Engineering Technology faculty work with industry partners to ensure the curriculum is up-to-date and focused on the current needs of employers.

Students learn: • communication and customer relations skills to ensure success as agricultural service technicians • how to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in agricultural equipment • to keep safety foremost in their minds in order to avoid injury and prevent damage to machinery.
