What you will study
Foundation Studies is a program designed to give international students the skills they need to be university ready. Students who successfully complete the Foundation Studies program and meet the appropriate prerequisites are eligible to pathway into an RMIT University first-year undergraduate program or its equivalent. The RMIT University Foundation Studies program is delivered by RMIT Training at our City Campus in Melbourne, Australia.
RMIT Training's Foundation Studies program is delivered face-to-face on campus and includes a live online component. Our delivery mode recognises the importance of preparing students for new ways of learning and working for the future.
RMIT's Bachelor of Data Science will develop skills in data analytics, statistics, computer science, machine learning, programming, mathematics, and data wrangling that will enable you to be central to business decision-making, corporate strategy and government planning.
Students will gain strong problem-solving skills, and learn how to effectively communicate their work to technical and non-technical audiences, work independently or as a team, and factor in relevant standards, ethical and legal considerations to their projects.
Using cutting-edge technologies, students will learn how to analyse and manage large amounts of data from various sources and evaluate their insights and solutions. They will gain hands-on experience using Python and R programming languages.
Students can personalise the degree to suit their career aspirations, selecting from a wide range of majors and minors. Major in advanced data science, cyber security or enterprise systems. Specialise in AI, data analysis, cloud computing, mixed reality, software development and blockchain.
Gain industry experience and connections while studying through work integrated learning experiences. Opportunities include capstone projects, case studies and programming studios.
