What you will study

Now more than ever, the world needs good journalists. Today’s journalists must combine strong writing with technical savvy and production expertise. Through this program, students will be guided by industry professionals to understand and explore the rapidly-changing world of journalism and story-telling. Students will hone their writing, interviewing, performance, and production skills to start on the path to a rewarding career in journalism. By earning their Associate Certificate, students will be honing their writing, story-telling and production skills to prepare for a variety of entry-level positions in journalism. Students will be able to apply their writing skills and understanding of compelling story structure to a wide variety of opportunities in the world of media and communication. Students may also wish to work as a freelance journalist, writer, or blogger to have their stories heard, or to enhance their own small business, personal project, or current job. Please note: Flexible Credential programs are part-time however enrollment in these programs does not affect PGWP eligibility.
