What you will study
Program Description Construction is a global industry, and construction managers are at the centre of it. Responsible for directing various operations within building projects, from project planning, contract administration and safety management, to cost and quality control, they represent a varied and exciting area of the industry. Nottingham Trent University's MSc Construction Management course aims to provide students with a framework for understanding the role of the construction manager, with a key focus on the management of construction projects from the perspective of the construction contractor.
Applying construction management principles and processes to project work, students will gain a critical understanding of management roles in industry processes. Students will examine the technological processes and associated business functions in the UK and international environments and, through the application of research methods, advance their ability to identify innovation and continuous development in industry.
This course is aimed at professionals or graduates wishing to pursue a career managing construction projects. It’s suitable for professionals already working in the broad construction industries, who aspire to senior management positions. Additionally, this course is suitable for undergraduate (honours) students in related subject areas, looking to progress to study a managerial and technical programme.
Students will benefit from Nottingham Trent University's industry-standard facilities, right in the heart of Nottingham's city centre. Students will have hands-on access to workshops and laboratories, supported by a team of expert technicians, enabling students to test, learn and research for themselves.
