What you will study

German-speaking cultures have had a profound international influence for centuries. Over one third of Europeans are native speakers of German, and the language holds a position in the world's top 20. It holds particular significance in the realms of business and politics.

The four-year programme offered involves intensive language training, which includes a year abroad. The courses provide an opportunity to acquire professional skills in various aspects of the German language, such as writing, speaking, presenting, and translating.

Additionally, students will delve into German-language literature, film, and theatre. These will be studied within the framework of historical and political developments, spanning from the eighteenth century to contemporary times.

In addition to advanced language proficiency, students will cultivate critical and analytical skills to the extent of successfully completing a dissertation in their final year.
