Program Description For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at City, University of London. The course length is determined mainly by English language level (UKVI IELTS score).
Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If the course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.
Master of Arts - International Journalism
The course is suitable for students with a good first degree, and a strong interest in international news and the way it is reported. The course combines a strong emphasis on practice with rigorous academic discussion of current trends in global journalism.
The MA in International Journalism is a keystone course at City and has built up a worldwide reputation. This course has been running since 1982 and has more than 1,000 alumni working in journalism around the world.
On this course students will gain from using both traditional and contemporary journalism tools, and acquire comprehensive skills, which they can take back to their own country or move on with to anywhere in the world.
