If students hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of Essex. Course length is determined mainly by students' English language level (UKVI IELTS score).
Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If their course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.
Master of Science - Human Resource Management
No matter the type of organisation, people need to be recruited, managed and motivated in order to create an effective and successful workplace. The University of Essex full-time, one year MSc Human Resource Management gives students the knowledge, skills and understanding to become a successful leader and practitioner in this increasingly complex business world. Students will learn to address practical human resource problems in a critical and independent way, while considering the ethical obligations of the human resource practitioner.
Students experience rigorous and practical training in core HR areas throughout the course. Students also have an opportunity to choose from a range of elective modules which reflect the research interests of Essex's strongly international faculty.
