Graduate Diploma - Early Childhood Education (GD204) (0100711)

Based on Australia’s national Early Years Learning Framework for early childhood teachers, this graduate diploma prepares students to enrich the minds and bodies of infants, toddlers and young children (aged birth to five years) in educational environments, designing and demonstrating high-quality learning experiences. As an early childhood teacher, they will support young learners and their families as advocates, enablers, custodians and thinkers; global citizens in yet-to-be-imagined futures.

On completing this diploma, students will become an innovative and attuned professional teacher with the knowledge, skills and experience to work in private enterprise, government agencies and community-based early childhood education settings locally and globally.

At the end of their studies, students will be qualified to teach in early childhood setting in Victoria and hold transferrable skills to work here. Students who are interested in teaching outside of Victoria or overseas, registration will be subject to the criteria of the relevant state or overseas accrediting authorities. They are encouraged to contact the relevant authority to determine if this qualification will allow them to teach in their jurisdiction.
