It was granted UNESCO City of Design status in 2015, a distinction that has had a significant impact on the design community in the city, leading to the initiation of numerous events and opportunities. The prestigious title has placed Dundee alongside other UNESCO Cities of Design such as Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Beijing, making it the first and only United Kingdom city to receive this award.

Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, the course will empower individuals to strategically approach design and enhance their knowledge and understanding of design management, service design, enterprise, and entrepreneurship.

By utilizing design thinking and other design research methods to understand and empathize with users, individuals will be able to make better informed business decisions in marketing, organizational change, and enhanced customer engagement.
