Overview

The finance and banking sectors continue to play major roles in the global economy – with the world’s top 1,000 banks having assets worth over $123 trillion as of 2019. Get the opportunity to learn the skills needed to enter the industry by studying International Finance and Banking.

Aimed primarily at international students, this course can be entered in Year 2 (Level 5) or Year 3 (Level 6), and allows students to explore the function of financial markets and the banking system in an international context, while also having the opportunity to learn about major banking theories and how they can be applied to solve practical problems. The course also features modules dedicated to the growing area of Financial Technology, with topics covered including software applications for finance, cryptocurrency, blockchain and peer-to-peer lending.

By studying at Coventry Business School, students will get the opportunity to access the school's Trading Floor, which is currently one of the largest academic trading floors in Europe. Through using industry standard software, such as Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters Eikon, which can be accessed on the Trading Floor or in other computer labs, students can have the chance to tackle problems in a close to real-life environment, which should help them in their future careers.
