What you will study

The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance at Derby is an EFMD-accredited course designed to prepare graduates for the professional world in a practical and inspiring way.

The programme provides a solid understanding of key accounting and financial principles, equipping students for management positions in industry and commerce or for a professional accountancy career. Relevant modules offer eligibility to apply for all nine maximum exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), as well as exemptions from CIMA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, and AIA qualifications.

The course includes opportunities for live consultancy projects, field trips, an 8-week Sage software programme leading to an ACCA-accredited Sage certificate, and the option to complete the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) Certificate. Students can choose between exam-based or non-exam-based assessment methods. The ACCA Accelerate programme is also available, offering industry-specific careers advice and additional benefits.
