Overview
Undergraduate Foundation Program WSU’s Undergraduate Foundation program provides additional academic and/or English language support and personalized advising to help students smoothly transition to full university study. Students are unconditionally admitted to the university and graduate in the same amount of time as direct-entry students – they are just provided with additional support courses. Bachelor of Arts - Foreign Languages and Cultures - Spanish Teaching Spanish is the fourth most spoken language in the world, and it is spoken in Spain, Central America, South America, and parts of the Caribbean, the United States, and the Philippines, to name a few. WSU's faculty come from a variety of Spanish-speaking countries, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, and Costa Rica, many of whom are native speakers of Spanish, and who bring first-hand cultural knowledge and experiences that enhance our program and the learning experiences for our students.
The Spanish Program at WSU provides students with a proficiency-oriented curriculum where they are encouraged to use Spanish from day one. We have courses on culture, film, literature, and various professions, such as medical, business, veterinary medicine, education, and/or law enforcement. The undergraduate program gives students the opportunity to major in Spanish for general, teaching. or professions options, or minor in Spanish for general or Latin American and Spanish Area Studies. Join the Spanish program at WSU and learn more about the language and Spanish-speaking cultures!
