What you will study

Program Description Marketing isn’t just about promotions and ads. Learn how to build a marketing plan through market research, marketing strategy and working in tandem with all areas of a business. Sheridan’s marketing instructors bring passion and industry experience into the classroom while ensuring curriculum is constantly updated to meet current industry demands.

In the first two years of the Bachelor of Business Administration - Marketing Management program, studies, students will build a solid foundation in general business fundamentals. Beginning in Year 3, students can choose from a range of electives, allowing them to specialize in one area of marketing or branch out across various fields. Students also put their new skills to work during a mandatory internship and optional co-op.

Today’s work world has changed. Top employability skills now include critical thinking, collaboration across networks and leading by influence, communication and entrepreneurship. Our small classes and experiential learning approach promote the development of these skills through constant interaction with the professors and peers.

All Sheridan students can sign up for membership with the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) by using their Sheridan email address. This program meets the educational prerequisite needed for entry to the CMA's Chartered Marketer program.

In addition to the core BBA courses, students will have the opportunity to take different breadth electives that will enable them to obtain a Sheridan Board Undergraduate Certificate in Creativity and Creative Problem Solving. 50% of Sheridan's June 2019 BBA graduates earned this optional certificate, which is endorsed by the State University of New York.

Courses in the certificate include: • Creative Leadership and Problem Solving • Applications of Creativity and Innovation • Group Dynamics and Creative Problem Solving Facilitation • Introduction to Studies in Creativity • Principles of Creative Problem Solving • Composition and Rhetoric • Critical Employability and 21st Century Skills

The Honours BBA programs were designed to ensure graduates acquire the ability to apply a range of business frameworks, critical employability and 21st century skills to better prepare them to meaningfully contribute and add value to the organizations and communities they serve. With this in mind students will complete 3 required courses: Becoming a Master Learner – an introductory course designed to provide students with the tools and strategies to help them succeed, Undergraduate Competency Development – designed to develop the skill sets around the key Competencies required to achieve success in business and society and BBA Portfolio – create a career-ready showcase e-portfolio that chronicles a student's development of the BBA Undergrad Competencies.
