These subjects are typically delivered in collaboration with industry partner HORIBA MIRA, ensuring the content remains grounded in real-world applications and aligned with workforce needs. This course is ideal for individuals seeking to explore emerging technologies through practical applications and to develop the ability to critically assess the strengths and limitations of current and future practices in the field. It offers opportunities to push the boundaries of software and hardware development while also investigating the sustainability of autonomous vehicles. Students will benefit from strong industrial and strategic collaborations, gaining insights aligned with national efforts such as those led by the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV). The course also emphasises the importance of safeguarding society through responsible innovation and provides the option to enhance practical experience—and strengthen employability—through an additional professional placement. Coventry University provides all necessary equipment for practical exercises in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication and navigation, utilising Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou. The university also supplies the required equipment—including accelerometers and data acquisition devices—and software, such as LabVIEW, for hands-on activities in vehicle dynamics.
