Associate in Applied Science - Computer Support and Operations

GCC’s Computer Support and Operations program prepares students to be a leader in developing solutions to organizational problems through the use of information technology.

With a degree in Computer Support and Operations students will gain an intensive background in the use of:

• Information Technology • Interpersonal Communication techniques • Problem solving • End user training • Application deployment • Web development

Upon successful completion of the Computer Support and Operation (CSO) program, the graduate will be able to:

• Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills required to implement and support end user computer systems. • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to install, configure and troubleshoot end user computing systems. • Demonstrate adequate preparation for career employment in an end user computing environment. • Demonstrate knowledge of the basic theories, techniques, terminology and human relationship skills used in the end user computing area. • Demonstrate knowledge of business concepts as they relate to the end user computing environment. • Compare and contrast the utility of different technologies that are used by computer end users to accomplish daily tasks. • Utilize and apply the technical, ethical, interpersonal and human relationship skills needed to function in a cooperative environment.
