The BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship with Placement Year combines core business management principles with entrepreneurial thinking to develop creativity, flexibility, innovation and problem-solving skills. The course is designed to equip future business leaders with the ability to scan the business environment, identify opportunities and progress viable commercial ideas, while also providing a strong platform for launching new business ventures. A global perspective on contemporary business is embedded throughout the programme, alongside a focus on ethical and responsible management.

Developed in close consultation with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the course offers a fast track to professional success. It is one of the few degrees in the UK that allows graduates to achieve both a BA (Hons) Business Management and the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership. This benchmark qualification supports full CMI membership and progression towards Chartered Manager status, with no additional exams or coursework required due to integrated module and CMI assessments.

Practical experience is a central feature of the degree, with extensive opportunities for work-related learning through live projects, case studies and business simulations. Students may choose to undertake a placement year between the second and third years, gaining valuable industry experience, professional networks and enhanced employability. The curriculum includes specialist modules that focus on identifying business opportunities, assessing commercial potential and turning ideas into reality, as well as exploring creativity in problem-solving, freelancing, business start-up challenges and strategies for taking innovative products to market.
