Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Natural Sciences (FGC0)
University of Nottingham - University Park
What you will study
Natural sciences allows them to study a combination of science subjects, getting to experience these at university before specializing later in the degree. They'll choose a combination of three subjects (called a stream) in their first year and study two subjects to degree level from their second year onwards.
They can continue to study familiar subjects but can also study subjects them may not have studied before such as archaeology, cancer sciences, earth science, the environment or psychology. Our course offers the flexibility to focus on what they are interested in, develop a wide range of knowledge and skills and understand how scientific disciplines fit together.
Subjects available They can choose multiple subject combinations from:
Archaeology Biology Cancer Sciences Chemistry Earth Science Ecosystem and Environment Maths Physics Psychology What they will study Collaborative modules in the second and third year, encourage them to understand theories and ideas from different areas of science and explore how they work together. A highlight of the course is the synoptic project where they work on a group project with students from other streams. They will bring your individual expertise to the project and find new ways to apply the knowledge from their learning in previous years.
Careers They'll graduate with the knowledge and technical skills to take a broad scientific approach to help tackle today's complex problems. Our graduates use their knowledge to work for companies including Cancer Research, the National Nuclear Laboratory and Rolls-Royce.
