2-Semester Pathway - International Foundation Year - Business, Media and Social Sciences - Transfer to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Politics

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In your International Foundation Year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The International Foundation Year in Business, Media and Social Sciences will familiarize you with a wide area of study for your intended degree. You will develop your critical thinking skills, creativity, analytical and team working skills, providing you with the most crucial skills required as a successful graduate.

While studying politics at Sussex, you will learn about ideas, issues and institutions.

You’ll analyse how people defend their interests and how those in power make policy, but are also held to account for their decisions. Working with our UK and international experts, you will study UK politics and compare it with politics in other countries.

Brighton is one of the UK’s most politically diverse cities. Our Politics Society welcomes figures from across the political spectrum to talk to you, including current UK politicians such as Caroline Lucas.

There’s no substitute for visiting a country and experiencing first-hand how it operates politically. Our four-day Berlin trip allows you to meet politicians in the German Bundestag and discuss politics with German students.
