Analysts are able to articulate and defend the significance of data analytics by considering challenges and trends at local, national, or global levels. They also propose effective solutions to complex problems influenced by multiple factors. The Master of Professional Studies in Analytics program addresses employer demand by equipping students with the skills necessary for data-driven decision-making. These skills include statistics and mathematics, analytics systems technology, business intelligence, advanced analytics, business process and management, business analytics agility, data communication, leadership, and data governance, policy, and ethics. Students apply analytics principles, tools, and methods to projects within sponsoring organizations, contributing to the extraction, development, delivery, and/or translation and implementation of data analysis for both tactical and strategic decision-making. Redesigned in 2021, the program reflects emerging trends in the field and is supported by faculty and business partners. Graduates leave the program with a portfolio of work samples showcasing their range and depth of skills. They also become part of a broader network of analytics professionals. The online, interactive format provides flexibility for working professionals, and the program is recognized as a STEM-designated graduate degree.
