Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management
University of Derby - Derby
What you will study
The BA (Hons) Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management programme develops knowledge of business operations and people management while allowing students to explore individual areas of interest, underpinned by real-world business experience. Entrepreneurship modules provide broad knowledge of enterprise and entrepreneurial practices, equipping graduates to establish their own businesses, work in freelance capacities, or contribute enterprisingly within SMEs or large organisations. The programme also covers key elements of Human Resource Management, enabling students to contextualise HR policy and practice within discussions on internationalisation, strategic direction, and sustainable business.
Practical application of theory to real-world scenarios is embedded throughout the course, with academic expertise linking business, enterprise, and entrepreneurship frameworks to the operational realities of the business environment. Extensive connections with the business community, particularly through the Derby Network of Entrepreneurs, further enhance the programme’s practical focus.
Teaching methods are varied, interactive, and engaging, encompassing formal lectures, tutor-led and student-led seminars, one-to-one and small group tutorials, work experience and consultancy projects, and self-directed study. Optional placement and internship opportunities provide additional professional experience, supporting employability and practical skill development.
