What you will study

The Master of Arts in International Affairs / Juris Doctor is a combined program, administered jointly with the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa. You must apply and be accepted at both universities.

The program is designed for students with a strong interest in international law and relations. The program provides an excellent opportunity for students to weave together research interests in law and international relations and is an excellent basis for a career in government or the private sector, as well as advanced studies in international affairs and international law. You will gain a full service, legal education, preparing you for entrance to the practice of law or other careers in the public and private sectors where a legal education is required or beneficial. You will also receive the full benefit of the MA in international affairs, including the necessary skills and tools to develop an understanding of our complex global environment. Areas of expertise in International Affairs include: conflict resolution and security, terrorism and intelligence, international trade and finance, international governance and development.
