Overview
The College of Alameda offers an Associate of Arts in Art - Art History for transfer program that is designed to meet the lower division requirements for Art History majors at California State University, the University of California and other four-year baccalaureate degree programs.
Students will explore the relationship between art, artists, the concept of aesthetics, and their sociocultural context. This program prepares students for a future in Art History. Students interested in this transfer program in Art History should consult with the Art Department Chair and a counselor.
Upon completion of this program a student will be able to: • Demonstrate with scholarship knowledge of the purposes of art in history. • Demonstrate skillful competence in a basic set of studio practices of art. • Demonstrate analytical knowledge of the human achievement of creative arts.
