What you will study

The combined Bachelor of Health Science - Public Health/Bachelor of Management (B.H.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree program is a rarity in Canada that blends public health and management, and the Dhillon School of Business is the only one to offer this degree at an undergraduate level.

Students who choose to complete this Bachelor of Management major may be required to extend their program beyond 50 courses. Please meet with an advisor to determine their major requirements.

Bachelor of Management - Marketing Marketing, a combination of art and science, is the core of any business. It helps identify consumer needs; guides the development of new products, services or communications strategies ensuring products and services are available where and when consumers want them; determines prices; and has the ability to adjust all of these for domestic and international markets. Almost one-third of North Americans are employed in marketing or marketing-related positions.

Marketers are the crucial link between an organization, their suppliers and their end-users, building relationships that benefit all parties. Marketers must have a strong understanding of the customer, whether an individual or an organization so they can effectively advise on all aspects of marketing.

Students learn to balance project experience with the latest theoretical concepts and study courses like consumer behaviour, advertising and promotions, managing responsibly in a global environment, economics, sports marketing, communications and social media, cross-cultural marketing, and statistics. They also draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology..

Bachelor of Health Sciences - Public Health Public health is focused on prevention rather than the treatment of disease. It examines the overall health of a population with the aim of developing strategies to promote and protect health.

Through course work and hands-on experience, the public health major at University of Lethbridge will provide students with the skills and tools needed to prevent disease/injury and to promote, and protect the health and well-being of Canadians and populations across the globe.

The core of the work in public health is to take steps to prevent chronic and infectious disease before it occurs. Students can join the program to be part of this exciting and rapidly expanding field and have a positive influence on their world!
