Associate in Science - Sports Management Studies

Majoring in Sport Management gives students the opportunity to apply business principles to the sport industry. This program offers foundations of accounting, marketing, and management principles with a focus on sports information, sports facility management, and sport organization. At GCC, students will be given the opportunity to complete their final internship at a business location of their choice. Upon successful completion of the A.S. Liberal Arts and Science: Sport Management Studies Program the graduate will be able to: • Identify strategies for effective personal professional development. • Apply a variety of management skills (decision-making, change management, conflict management, etc.) to various situations in sport management. • Follow prescribed legal guidelines of the profession. • Apply ethical standards of the profession. • Communicate effectively in a professional environment. • Explain the uniqueness/special nature of sport management. • Analyze the elements of the marketing mix in sport management. • Interpret consumer behavior data in sport management
